Jean met her sponsored monk in 2009. Kenzang is a sensitive young man and was very happy to sit quietly with Jean – seen here watching the local horse races.
Jean was brave making the journey to such a high altitude as she suffered from bad asthma. She was determined however, to go and not only meet Kenzang, but also to have a cup of tea with Rabgyi’s Mum. She did meet the lady but declined the tea when she realised it was the traditional Tibetan yak butter tea, heavily laced with salt!
Sadly Jean passed away early in 2012. Kenzang has since found another sponsor.
