We were getting worried, but are happy to report that last week the parcel we sent to the Nuns last July finally arrived!!!! There can be multiple reasons for the delay, mostly are due to the time it simply gets to get a parcel to such an inaccessible area. The parcel has to be collected from a town where the post reaches, and this is far from the Monastery/Nunnery, the roads are bad and often closed due to snow. Even once the parcel reaches Vassar, there is still a long journey to the Nunnery which is further off the beaten track. Well worth the effort despite the hold up. The Nuns simply love to get their yearly parcel and get very excited when it arrives. They are poor and have so little. Simple gifts and letters/photos from their sponsors are really treasured.
